History

The first Corvette Roadster came out in 1953. The actual going rate for the '53 Roadster is $96,000 for an excellent condition model.

The Sting Rays came out after that and were sold from 1963 to 1967.

The 1968 to 1972 models were called "Mid Year" and actually had some of the biggest engines and the most horsepower.

The "Soft Nose" Corvettes preceded the "Mid Years" and felt the problem of high fuel costs and smaller engines.

Then came the Corvettes you all know well, the Late Model. These have came to be, because of advanced technology and fuel injection, some of the highest output 'Vettes ever built. Some may reason that the '68 Corvette is the best, with its 454. Tests have proved that the 1999 has more horsepower and handles a lot better.

That's my little history lesson on the history of the Corvette. I hope you had fun reading it and you learned a little bit more. I know I sure did.
